Can a musical and performative ritual give power to real change? This is examined by composer Line Tjørnhøj, the duo KFVLG aka Katinka Fogh Vindelev (soprano and electronics) and Louise Gorm (violin), as well as playwright and stage director Tanja Diers through their work Fragments of Flee.
The state of fleeing is approached through our own history, a forgotten Danish heroine, Karen Jeppe (1876-1935) who was a missionary and social worker, known for her work with Armenian refugees and survivors of the genocide, as well a bag designed by Sako Dersahagian inspired by Ursula le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory. Creating a work in five fragments, we will visit people and places where flee has left its mark and span the work beyond various media expressions: concerts, sound walks, rituals and film.
